Agate gemstones are the legacy of our planet’s violent past. They may be found associated with igneous extrusions in many of the earth’s volcanic regions. Agates are widespread throughout the world, but Scottish agates are among the most beautiful and diverse. Presented by STRATAGEMS, this site is an invitation to share their fascination. We all like to find BIG agates. Yet some of the tinies are so exquisite that they are worth collecting in their own right. Here is a selection of mini agates, none of which are more than 2 cm. across. Click on the thumbnails to see an enlarged picture. Please click on the pictures to enlarge. |
